As I'm typing I can see a full moon out one window and the sun coming up our the other window. It's going to be a bright morning.
I'm still stewing over this arms deal with Taiwan.
Is this the way the military gets money to spend on projects that they know Congress would not give them money for? And why are they selling equipment that the American people paid for without being accountable to us?
And there doesn't seem to be any mention of what the military is going to do with 6.4 billion dollars they get from Taiwan. My guess is, unless something goes terribly wrong we will never be privy to that information.
Just because they are the Government they can't do whatever they want.
Or can they?

...sticking our nose in where it does not belong:
There is no reason for this arms sale except to piss off China. It is not enough to make a dent in the Chinese should they decide to take action against Taiwan, so why?
Someone give me a reasonable explanation why we would sell arms to Taiwan other than to create a riff between China and ourselves. The only thing it is going to do for Taiwan is get a bunch of them killed.
And who is making this decision to sell them arms? I certainly don't remember voting on it.
Who is the asshole that thinks they know what is best for the American people and makes such decisions about selling arms to other countries without asking us?
You people are dreaming if you think the people still run this Government.
I don't often do faces, but how can you not with this one?
Ashley was a treat to work with. I understand she has moved on from work she did with me and now is more into the fashion/glam stuff. And I like what she has been involved with the last few years. I wish her all the best.
Still want her to model for me come summer, but I think that ship has sailed.

Tonight Roberta and I are going to see a play, The Laramie Project
that will be put on by our local theater and run for three nights.
The wife and I are supplying the food for the opening reception. Yesterday evening we worked in the kitchen non stop baking, creating cheese balls, and such.
It will be interesting to see if there are protesters. It seems that there is a group that travels around the country showing up where the play is being put on.
It will also be interesting to see who shows up for the play. I do believe that there will be a good crowd.

Once again I will be entering the Chelsea International Fine Art Competition at the Agora Gallery in New York City. I don't know how many years in a row I have entered this show and have been rejected each and every time. Each year I submit the best of the best from the work I did the year before, and each year it is not good enough for the judges to be included in the show. This is a very humbling show for me. Each year when I get a rejection notice from them I go through a series of mood swings. First I want to hammer my lenses flat. Then I pick myself up and dust myself off in an attempt to move on into a new year. Then I get pissed and want to give up photography all together in an attempt to justify my hurt feelings. After about six months I finally forget about the damn show and go on with life.
But I will get even in a couple more years when I have my solo show in the gallery down the street. Hee, hee, hee.
In the mean time I will keep trying.

I have a standing order with the models when we are working: If you see something that you want a shot of, go for it.
Sometimes that standing order backfires on me and I often find a few images of myself napping in the sun when I download the cards onto the computer.
I guess technically these would belong to the model who picked up my camera, but I don't think they will bitch if I post some.
For a critique I would ask that you mind your horizon a bit better from now on. All the water is going to run out of the lake.
I shouldn't type when I am tired, either. A save now resulted in a miss and became published last night. That collection of ideas was not ready to go out on the airways quite yet.
A bit of refining and I will try it again at a latter date.

Going on a week now without snuff, and for me that is a big deal.
From the time I woke up to the time I fell asleep I always had snuff in my mouth. For 40 years I have had a constant flow of nicotine into my system.
I tried to give up snuff and beer but couldn't handle both as the same time.
I think I may be ready to give the alcohol a go now.

I certainly will not be one of those people who bore the world with their medical problems, but I did spend about twenty minutes last night (3am ish) trying to figure out what was out my bedroom window in the way of a view. I had the wrong State in mind for the first ten minutes of the thought process.
Not all is back to normal quite yet.
But I did go to Gert's Tavern for coffee this morning and knew everyone in there by name.
Just missing a few pieces of the puzzle.

Looks like I am starting this blog over from the beginning. For those of you who have been with me for the last 800+ posts, I hope things continue sparking your interest.
They will not likely be everyday posts from now on however.
